Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms govern access to and use of the Cassandra Tax platform and public website operated by Cassandra Research Pty Ltd (“Cassandra”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the organisation you represent.
1. The service
Cassandra Tax is a practice-management and tax-workflow platform for Australian tax professionals and their authorised clients. It provides preparation, review, document, signature, and lodgement tools. Availability of specific ATO or third-party workflows depends on the applicable approvals, credentials, service configuration, and product entitlements.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be authorised to use the service on behalf of the relevant practice and agree to provide accurate registration and account information.
- You are responsible for safeguarding credentials, multi-factor authentication devices, and recovery material, and for all activity that occurs through your account.
- You must notify us promptly of unauthorised access or a suspected security issue at support@cassandra.tax.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service unlawfully or in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations;
- access another organisation's data, or attempt to bypass authentication, tenant boundaries, permissions, or security controls;
- upload or transmit malicious, misleading, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate content;
- interfere with the availability, security, or integrity of the service or its underlying infrastructure.
4. Professional responsibility
Cassandra Tax provides software tools; it does not provide tax, legal, or professional advice. Registered tax agents and authorised users remain responsible for verifying information, exercising professional judgement, and complying with their own legal, ethical, and ATO obligations. An automated review flag or workflow result is not a substitute for human review and approval.
5. Subscriptions and third-party services
Paid features are subject to the selected subscription terms and billing schedule. The service may integrate with third-party accounting, identity, signature, storage, and ATO services. Your use of those services may be governed by separate terms and requires the relevant approvals and credentials.
6. Intellectual property
The service, its software, interfaces, documentation, and related materials are owned by or licensed to Cassandra. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for authorised internal business purposes. You retain responsibility for your own client and practice data.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits any non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, unlawful use, non-payment, or to protect the security of the service or other users. You may stop using the service at any time; fees and data-retention obligations continue as described in your subscription and the privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to account holders. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
